You’re embarking on one of the most important times in your life and I’m extremely honored you’re considering me to be there for it. Thank you so much for your interest in our work. We are excited about the potential opportunity to tell your story. We specialize in weddings and underwater photography with a fun artistic flair. With more than 500 weddings photographed since 2006, we can’t say we’ve seen it all but we have definitely seen a lot!

Although wedding photography has come a long way since your grandparent’s albums, one thing remains the same. You are real and your connection is real. Capturing that raw emotion coupled with creative composition creates a legacy for you to gaze at and get just as excited as the day you said “I do”.

what we do & where we’ve been

We would describe our personalities as a fun and playful with just enough seriousness to keep us balanced. We are photographers who capture authentic moments with an editorial feel to our portraits. We have extensive backgrounds in project management and a lot of techy stuff. 

Those genuine emotional images give us all the feels. When we see a client drop to their knees from emotion, we’re fighting back tears as we capture those sweet intimate moments. I’ll blame it on the onions every time in case you ask if I was crying.

On the other end of the photography spectrum would be the 100% posed editorial portraits we like to accomplish for our clients. While we still want it to look fluid, we’ll pose you to look your best and talk you all the way through the process while screaming “YAAA-SSS-SSS!” as you slay!

We’re also closeted geeks and love to stay up to date with the best technology to process our images, safely store them on-site and off, have the best professional equipment, and client management software and techniques. Rest assured, we’ve got you covered on the back-end. 

One of our other super-powers is our quirky personalties! This keeps us laughing at ourselves and one another. We believe laughter is way too good not to share, so we’ll be sure to share those jokes when we meet you!

There is something strikingly beautiful about photographing a couple’s nuptials in an amazing destination with stunning backdrops. Whether it be on the historic cobblestone streets of Vienna or off the Pacific Coast in Zihuatanejo. A destination wedding is a perfect fit for a lot of our clients and we are happy to be there for you to document it! We’ll plan to arrive at least 2 days before the wedding so we may scout the perfect locations and get acquainted with the location. We also pad our travel by a day just case we have any travel snaffoos. Believe us … it’s happened and want to be prepared to be there when you best expect us to be there.

 

what’s included

We include complimentary rehearsal dinner coverage as well as a day-after session for our destination couples. If you are getting married in a location, we are itching to add to our portfolio, a special booking incentive may be included. Ask for details!

flight / hotel stay / per diem

We make hiring us for your destination coverage pretty simple. You’ll need to pay for us to get there (flight) and for us to stay there (hotel). We book the flight and hotel stay and just add it to your package. If you have any points or a room block you’d like to use, we just need to approve before you set that up for our travel for your wedding. Our per diem is $30/person per day we are with you.

engagement sessions

I absolutely LOVE engagement sessions! I’m a firm believer engagement portraits help for the wedding day photography flow more organically and relaxed. 

My clients are able to get to know how I work behind the camera before the wedding day and I am able to see what their love looks like, allow them to be more comfortable and let down their hair a bit … almost like a practice round! These photos are also wonderful for save-the-dates and wedding websites. You’ll also get a chance to hear some of my ridiculous stand-up comedy!

I love and need natural light to make that magic happen you so adore in my photographs. Over-cast days are some of my favorite so don’t fret if there are a few clouds in the sky .. that’s 100% partly-magic! I typically schedule my sessions around the best light of the day. When is that, you ask. Usually an hour or two before sunset depending on how long your session will be. 

Those hues at sunset are truly amazing and that soft warm diffused light looks good on everyone! Most often my sessions are outdoor locations in the city or nature but sometimes I get requests to photograph indoors. As long as there is great natural light for our session together, I’m game! The location for your engagement session is your choice and if you haven’t selected one or just need a little assistance, I’m happy to offer up suggestions to find a spot perfect for you. I’ve spent almost 13 years scouting some of the best spots in the Dallas area – most of which are super-classified top-secret for AKP Clients only! 

Since I like to let you write the script for the day. I will pose you a little and let you fall into your comfort zone with each other. One of the biggest reasons we get hired is how natural our couples look during portraits. Here’s a secret….promise not to tell??? Almost all of our portraits are posed to an extent. I will guide you to look your absolute best and make you feel confident.

Peace of mind knowing you’ve got an experienced photography team who is passionate about what they do and the art of connection. For over a decade, AKP has invested in each of our clients.

You won’t be just a date on my calendar. I want to get to know you and your story. Creating a sincerely genuine connection is important to creating genuine images. Our goal is not only to provide our couples with beautiful images but also a wonderful experience.

Since beginning photographing weddings in 2006, we’ve been fortunate to document over 400 love-stories. We can’t say we’ve seen it all BUT we’ve definitely seen a whole heck of a lot!

All weddings are not created equal. If you’d like full coverage from “getting ready” to the formal send-off for your wedding, 8 hours seems to be magic number to start. If you don’t see exactly what you are looking for, don’t worry, AKP can build a custom package specific to your needs.

You love what you see and are ready to move forward as an AKP client… SUPER! After you select your collection, you let us know and we send over your proposal. Everything is electronic and super easy to complete. The reservation fee is $2,000. We accept checks, cash and all major credit cards.

Upon booking, you’ll receive a detailed email about the next steps to prepare for your experience as an AKP Client as well as a welcome package delivered to you in the mail.

Post-processing is the most time-consuming part of the photography process and we want to make sure we’re checking all the boxes to deliver a stunning final product to our clients. Our editing is clean and timeless. We believe the best editing is the editing that isn’t obvious. You won’t look back at your wedding files and wonder why it looks like some type of heavy dramatic filter has been placed over every single image.

Yes, we have them! Yes, you need them! These artfully hand-crafted American-made masterpieces are stunning and a great addition to your wedding package. Once the wedding is complete and the gallery is live, your photos come to life when printed in an album. We’ll gather our favorites from the day to best tell your story and present you with a virtual draft of the book where you are able to offer us any revision requests before sending into production.

Each of our collections come with digital files with a release for personal usage and printing rights. All of the collections include high-resolution printable files and they are printable up to 8×12. The full-resolution digital files are available as an upgrade unless already included in your collection. All wedding packages include a digital download from our client galleries. These files are for personal use only. You can use them on a wedding website or social media… We only ask that you credit us when sharing online and not to edit or crop the photos in any way.

Putting a quantifiable number on how many images you’ll see from a collection of semi-documentary style photography is tough but roughly 50-100 per hour will be in the final curated set of files. This number can vary.

Each client will receive a password protected gallery where all images will be available. Gallery creation for portraits is generally 2-3 weeks and for weddings, it is 6-8 weeks or sooner. We do, however, love surprising clients with super-fast results!

Take rest knowing you will know who will be the lead photographer for your wedding. You won’t be wondering who will show up on the wedding day … EVER.
