Since the beginning of my photography career, I made a conscious decision that I wanted to LOVE what I do and do what I LOVE. I can honestly say, after documenting over 450 love stories since 2006 I still love it to this day! My camera has taken this small town girl to many amazing places around the globe.
Photography is an outlet I use to show my creativity and it allows me to capture the beauty around me. I strive to capture authentic, timeless and beautiful photographs with a touch of modern fun. My top priority is to create a legacy for you and your loved ones to enjoy for many years to come.
Whether you just started your journey into wedding planning or if you’ve been at it for months, deciding who will document one of the most important days of your life is an important one. When all the happy tears are dried and the sparklers have been extinguished, beautifully captured images will be what you have to revisit the romance, emotion and spirit of all of those little moments and I’m truly honored you’re considering me for this special time in your life.
As a creative, I find BEAUTY in the details
I specialize in weddings, portraits, commercial and underwater photography. I’m half-serious 75% of the time. I love to laugh and share it with others, but I don’t take it lightly that it is my job to preserve precious memories for my clients. As a photographer of Dallas wedding photography, my approach to photographing wedding clients is telling their stories, but I also love to beautifully capture the details of the day. I love to show off the clothing, the rings, and the wedding stationery. I will ease nerves on the wedding day and offer subtle direction to create legacy worthy images you will cherish for years to come.
Before I began shooting weddings full time, I worked in the accounting field for 8 years. I was pulling double duty as a full time office manager and shooting whenever I could. I started specializing in weddings in 2006. I worked with some amazing photographers in the Dallas area who’s work I admire and respect. Mentoring from some of the best wedding photographers in the Dallas area helped pave the way for where I am today. My first full year as a full-time wedding photographer was 2009. I am proud to say by the end of that year, I was nationally published in Southern Weddings Magazine. By the end of 2010 I had 3 magazine covers, a fashion editorial in Texas Wedding Guide, and many wonderful couples to call friends. I can be found in places like Martha Stewart Weddings, Elle, Vogue, InStyle, Junebug Weddings World’s Best List, and more!
WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING
I would give Amy Karp Photography 100 stars if I could!
Amy is without a doubt the best wedding photographer out there! From day 1 when I inquired about her services all the way to gallery delivery, Amy was organized, professional and great to work with. She is an absolute joy to be around. Her associate shooters, equally as amazing. They made my husband and friends feel extremely comfortable and at ease during their portraits. I fully trusted them to capture our wedding weekend perfectly, but they knocked it out of the park and exceeded my expectations. If Amy is available on your wedding date, put down your deposit as fast as you can. You won’t regret it!

If I had to choose another career in life, it would probably be stand-up comedy even though the thought of public speaking is terrifying. I love to make people laugh and smile so photography is the a perfect outlet for me to feed that part of my soul.
I’m drawn to those big laugh moment images and when they happen, my heart is absolutely over-joyed. Being able to share that with my clients on one of the happiest days of their life is icing on the wedding cake.
