Dallas Arboretum Proposal with Sahil and Pooja

I had a covert operation last week at the Dallas Arboretum. I had to hide out private investigator style with a long lens in the bushes for a surprise proposal. It was an over-cast day so there was a glorious nature diffuser perfectly placed in the sky for this session. People were out enjoying the amazing Dallas weather before it gets too hot. It was about to be amazing.

I sent him maps via email, we coordinated the details over the phone, we plotted our plan and set a time. I arrived. I hid. I waited.

The text comes in … “we’re at the main entrance”

I’m set.

I haven’t met them but asked them to send pictures. I spot them through the foliage. He’s carrying a bag in one hand and holding her’s in the other. She’s smiling. They’re talking. I literally start shaking. I am just as nervous for them. Adrenaline kicks in. Its go time! He stays on plan. She’s facing the water, so I have a clear shot of the ring hand as he gets down on one knee to ask her to marry him. Wait! He opens the ring box. The ring POPS out. She laughs. He laughs. Reset. He’s not at all rattled. He’s got this. He asks, she says “Yes”. They embrace.

Meet Sahil and Pooja. I had been talking with Sahil back and forth through email and the phone about the details for his wedding proposal to Pooja. He loved the idea of the beautiful backdrops at the Arboretum. He told her he was speaking for his business at the Arboretum and would need to pack his sport coat. What he didn’t tell her was that he had packed a few other things for her to change into after the actual proposal so we could dive right into their portrait session. Hellooooooo…KEEPER! Their love for each other was so evident. She was over-the-moon happy and it was written all over her face. Their wedding will be India, but they met far from India in the Great State of Texas last fall. They met at a place filled with fun and excitement…the Texas State Fair. Thank you so much for letting me be a small part of such a special day. I wish you both a lifetime of love and laughter and may each day be better than the last!
