Teresa contacted me several months ago from Hong Kong (yep, no typo … This small town East Texas Girl was a little giddy to receive that email). Thank you Google for listing me near the top of the organic search results for underwater photography and of course, Pinterest and all the awesome pinners who pin my underwater work! Teresa originally was tossing around the idea of me going to China and shooting them there. I was a little nervous about open water. I really want to, but have not made the dive yet for that one. I have been having dreams about a shoot like this for an entire year. I couldn’t wait to get my camera underwater again. Hong Kong was starting to not be a viable option, so we soon shifted gears and switched the portrait session plans to Texas. The date was set and I started dreaming about their session….in color. I wanted to gift them with a land session since they were coming to Dallas to see me. Their flight landed and then they shuttled to Plano. For the weeks leading up to the shoot, I was scouting land locations. I wanted to make sure to give them an urban feel (their only request for the land session) and to take them somewhere I had never been to shoot before. Somewhere special. I found a cute little antique store in Plano and asked the owner if we would be able to have part of their session there. He was so accommodating and polite and happily looked up from this paper that afternoon and told me YES! If you ever want to see a photographer skip and dance, tell them they can shoot in your super-awesome location that (from what you have have researched) has not been shot in before! They sent me images of the dress, the jewelry and some inspiration images from an underwater portrait session I did with Vanja. So…here they are, a few of my favorites from the session Anthony and Teresa. They braved the cold water, the 20 hour plane ride, the severe jet-lag, and me saying y’all about 100 times. I did a round of slow claps after the session….these two lovebirds are that good!
I couldn’t resist messing around in photoshop with this one 🙂
Gia released a sneak peek of the video and I am dying to see it. It looks soooo good!

Gahhh, I adore these!! I could stare at these images for hours. There is a romanticism about these images that is very hard to describe in words, it can only be felt, your work inspires me Amy
Cool! I’ve never seen engagement photos like this especially underwater. I like it.
