Melissa and Mark’s Downtown Dallas Wedding

Where do I begin? This Dallas wedding was making me emotional before Mark ever proposed to Melissa. I met Melissa back when I was co-teaching a workshop and she was one of the models. She was awesome and we became friends. After the workshop, I said I would shoot a portrait session for her if she did me another favor – trade is super! I needed a model for a fashion show that was coming up and I was helping to coordinate the event. She said yes. We talked a few more times after that and then Mark popped the question. Our wedding relationship kicked into over-drive. With her choices for photography being pretty endless, I was beyond honored they chose me to photograph their day. We went to Dallas (the design district and downtown) for their engagement session.

Lets fast forward to their wedding day. It never really crossed my mind until a few weeks leading up to their wedding that it was the same weekend as the infamous Texas OU Weekend. If you are not from Dallas, this is an absolute crazy time to be downtown with all of the excited football fans running around. The Texas and OU fans did not disappoint. I saw several of them, and traffic was pretty tame……so, thank you! Days before the wedding, I was concerned with lighting the ceremony, so I asks one of my good friends, Brad from Es-Events if he had a few lights to loan me so they would be fabulously lit during the wedding ceremony. Debbie with Branching Out Events did an amazing design with butterflies and really pulled Melissa and Mark’s vision together beautifully at The Avanti Fountain Place in Dallas and Glenn Roush had the guests dancing all night. Melissa’s Pronovias wedding gown just sparkled all day. Thank you both for choosing me to be your wedding photographer and I wish you a lifetime full of love and laughter!
