Chase and Sarah’s wedding took place in a beautiful historic Church in Downtown Garland. Sarah booked me for her wedding a year and a half away and leading up to their wedding day, I was able to get to know the couple and we had a blast! I learned that if you say cuss words in front of Sarah, she blushed first then laughed and Chase laughed first then laughed some more. I learned that Sarah’s mom was the teacher who occupied my Aunt’s classroom before my Aunt. I learned that Sarah’s niece is cute as a button and her family is one of those families that genuinely cares about everyone around them. Thank you Sarah and Chase for choosing us to document your day and tell your story! It was a blast…stay tuned for the ceremony….HINT there are sunglasses and dancin’ Grandparents!!! Thanks to Anna and Jason for helping me rock the last wedding of 2009!
tod + ashley | SHOOT OUT
How awesome is it that we (wedding industry professionals) get to have so much fun? Our networking events make a regular party look like study hall. Recently, OK, not recently, but this is the first chance to post these images….a group of us got together in downtown Carrollton to have a little shoot-out. These photographers are some of the best in Dallas and I felt very honored to have the opportunity to swap ideas, watch them pose, and just listen to them. We all got a chance to take some of our own photos, but most of the time it was a free for all and the longest lens wins
Tod and Ashley were the engaged couple that so graciously let us attack shower them with our cameras. And Jared Rey is the awesome dude that organized the soiree! There were several of us out that day. Here are some of the fabulous images I managed to snag in between talking

Here’s the list of the other awesome photogs in attendance: Allison Davis, Andrea Crosswhite, Catie Ronquillo, Celina Gomez, Jared Rey, Jason Anderson, Jason Huang, Josh Littrell, Magaly Abbott, Stacy Reeves & Stephen Brown. And for fun, here’s some behind the scenes from the day:

top row LtoR: Josh Littrell (and his lightbox), Celina Gomez middle row LtoR: Jason Huang (and his iPhone), Stacy Reeves (and her posing skills) bottom row LtoR: Jared Rey (and his speed to get out of our shot), Andrea Crosswhite
Speaking of doing awesome things…
I want to wish all of you a fabulous and wonderful New Year :: Happy 2010! On, January 1st, I sat reading emails that I desperately needed to get caught up on from the holidays. I opened an email from Kelly Simants. As I opened this email, I started reading and felt a huge desire to really ROCK 2010! I am constantly improving my photography skills, but learning how to run a successful business is something that drives me these days. After I read through this email I IMMEDIATELY signed up for Sage Wedding Pros, The Simple Plan.
If you are not in Dallas, no worries, these gals are taking their SMARTS all over the country. Click on the link for more information and jump start your business in 2010. I seriously adore Chris Ryan from The Ryan Manor, he has been such an inspiration. The Simple Plan : Dallas is being held at, where else, The Ryan Manor. Chris is constantly telling people about Groom Sold Separately. I am so excited can not wait to soak up all this information in less than a month!
peyton + chris | WEDDING @ The DMA pt2
Peyton and Chris said “I do” during their wedding amongst some of the greatest works our world has seen at the Dallas Museum of Art. Watching the two of them together was just AS breathtaking. Chris looks at Peyton and it makes you FEEL his love for her….really feel it! Enjoy the wedding ceremony and formals as I cook up the reception for you munch on. Again, its something HOT; you will want to come back for seconds! For those wanting to feast on the appetizer, here’s part 1

love this!

gia wood | MODELS

Is it just me, or are red head’s just HOT?? We rocked it at the McKinney Cotton Mill! You saw the behind the scenes footage for this shoot, now check out the hotness. More will be coming your way in the next few posts.

These next images were shot by Jason Anderson of JA2Photography. He was there to help me out and ended up shooting a ton of fabulous images himself. He wanted to come along to get some posing ideas for his own photography business and these girls really posed it up for us!

andrew { BABY }
Meet Baby Andrew! This little fella is so serious and ALERT! He must have had a pot of coffee before I got there, because I couldn’t wear him out to get him to go to sleep! The last few babies I have photographed have been wide awake, so it was something I just had to work around. Both of his parents went to Texas A&M, so we had to work in the rings somehow! We put Andrew in an orange outfit at one point during the shoot and his Mom said we couldn’t have any pictures with anything Aggie until he took that color off
They are Aggie to the bone! On a side note: I do not specialize in families & babies, but only do them on occasion because my little guy isn’t too little anymore and they are fun to snuggle with

julie + mark | eSESSION
Meet Julie.

Meet Mark.

Together they are Julie + Mark = totally awesome!!! They met at K-State and have been inseparable ever since. This is the fabulous couple that ran through a fountain for me. It was totally worth it :: the ring shot is KILLER!

claire | ROCK WITH ME
Claire contacted me and asked if I did one-on-one sessions with photographers. We soon began emailing back and forth and set up our ROCK WITH ME SESSION! We talked about posing, lighting, camera settings, & several other things. OH, and I showed her how lose camera equipment! I left light stands on this shoot downtown and then went back to get them and they were gone
:: sad, sad, sad. Here are a few images from our session.

And meet Claire….I couldn’t resist taking pictures of her. Isn’t she fun??? We actually planned this to show her how quickly you need to engage your subject and we talked about posing as well. She’s an old pro at posing, so she knew the drill. AND she now gets to sport a cool new image in her bio section of her webpage

absolut | EVENT
A few weeks ago….OK, more than a month ago Miami Marketing Group :: MMG hosted a BIG party at Studios 1019 in Dallas for Absolut. I was the lucky photographer that was able to document the occasion thanks to John Livas for the referral! Sky Nellor kept the party going while the bartenders kept the Absolut flowing
You didn’t come to this blogsite to read cheesy rhymes, so check out the images below.

sarah + chase | SNEAK PEEK!

Last night was my last wedding of 2009. Congrats to Sarah + Chase!
karen + gary | WEDDING pt1
Karen + Gary were married in September in Allen, Texas and then we went over to a little piece of Dallas, TEXAS history known as Southfork Ranch . You won’t want to miss out on the next parts of this wedding. We had a tremendous time getting these folks to open up (insert sarcasm here! - They were just so camera shy!
) Karen is a dancer and all of her bridesmaids are as well (her sister says she isn’t, but I saw her on the dance floor!). Gary and all of his groomsmen were fun group of guys also! During our formal pictures I was telling Gary how awesome his hair was and one of the groomsmen piped up, “He’s about to get married, back off!” Karen + Gary wanted to see each other before the ceremony and it was so relaxed and wonderful for them to have some great portraits beforehand. We did a FIRST and SECOND first look (one staged outside so we could have some wonderful natural light). Enjoy these images from their special day. Thanks Jeremy Gilliam for being my co-pilot for the day!

thursday therapy | FUN TIMES
For the past two months several wedding vendors have been getting together for a little happy hour fun. Kelly Simants from Sweet Pea Events puts together this fun-filled evening and dubs it “Thursday Therapy”. So far the photographers in Dallas definitely take over this event, so all you other wedding folks need to make it out to the next Thursday Therapy! We are having a blast and would love to meet you too! In the meantime, check out what you have been missing

ROCKIN' mini-sessions | FAMILY
A few weeks ago we did our ROCKIN’ Family Mini-Sessions :: they ROCKED!!! It was so fun to shoot so many families in the same day at the same location and get stuff that was so different. Thanks to the Columbus Family, The McManus Family, The Cabaniss Family, & The Haar Family - YOU GUYS ROCK!!!

stephanie + lee | WEDDING pt2
THUMBS UP EVERYONE!
Here is part2 of Lee + Stephanie’s wedding (part1 is HERE). We were at a few places for pictures on their wedding day, so be sure to stop by the blog to see part3, its another location as well! Our first stop was Carrollton First Baptist Church to get them married, then we went over to the Family Center at the Church to have a reception, THEN we were able to go to the Las Colinas Canals on the way to the reception to take some fun bridal party pictures! THIS WAS THE HOTTEST DAY IN AUGUST, but everyone still looks gorgeous. I was a hot mess behind the camera, but nobody was taking pictures of me except for Andrew
. Enjoy these fabulous images and please remember to give these folks so blog love, ’cause they ROCK!!!

sneak peeks!!!
I have so much to blog about and want to give you a taste of what is to come during the next few posts…a teaser if you will! Stay tuned folks, this blog is about to get insane with all the hotness that is about to happen!!!!
