Saturday’s weather could not have been any more perfect for a gorgeous outdoor wedding. When I started the drive from Dallas to Azle and read the thermostat in the car and the outside temperature was 86 degrees, I almost did a doughnut in the nearest parking lot. After weeks of 3 digits temps, it was a fresh break in the heat! I made it to Azle to photograph the wedding (no doughnuts!) and was met by two people in love and ready to spend the rest of their lives together. Enjoy these sneak peeks of their first look! When the bridal party finishes their pictures, then we each let out a huge sigh….you’re married! Its real! You look down at your ring fingers to see a shiny new wedding band wrapped around them. You look at each other and say, “we did it, we’re married”….

That really never gets old. I love what I do and I love seeing couples in love. Weddings are incredible!

Ashley and Brent’s wedding was this past weekend…and this is just a sneak peek from the beautiful day. We started off the day at Hickory Street Annex and Aloft (the groomsmen almost got to stay there due to a bomb threat), then we headed up to Allen for the ceremony at the gorgeous St Jude Catholic Church, then back down to Dallas again….we traveled in style though in a stretch hummer! I love this shot of Ashley seeing Hickory Street Annex as we drove up and how happy Brent looks seeing Ashley so excited about the wedding reception all lit up. My husband says it all the time, “I’m happy if you’re happy”…seems to be true with Ashley and Brent too

When I arrived at Hickory Street Annex to photograph Ashley in her stunning wedding gown (current issues of fashion magazines in hand for posing inspiration) I had no idea what I was in store for. Once we started the bridal session, I realized I could have left those magazines in the car. Ashley had some serious bridal posing skills in her back pocket! I have been patiently (or a little impatiently) waiting to post these stunning beauties for a few months. Ashley and Brent’s wedding was yesterday in Dallas at Hickory Street Annex (sneak peek coming SOON!) so I can now.

Both of Ashley’s parents were at our session, so I did what I normally do…let them participate. These next few images, Ashley’s Father was holding the reflector for me. He’s a pro now Thanks DAD!

I just could not resist posting this fun animation of Kacie and John doing the robot at their wedding reception. I am finishing up their blog post and this was irresistible!

We journeyed back in time for Kacie and John’s wedding  at the historic Maple Manor in Dallas.  Despite early predictions of rain, it was a gorgeous day. Kacie, your wedding day rain dance worked! I loved seeing all the colors come together for their ceremony. I already posted part1 and part2 of this wedding, so go catch up and I will meet you back here.

John’s mother, Mitta plays for the Dallas Symphony Orchestra and while she was busy being the mother of the groom, the wedding music was incredible….LOVE!

The committee members just couldn’t help themselves…the show was wrapping and we needed some wedding dress therapy!

And if dressing up in wedding gowns wasn’t enough for you….we also put on crinolines and did the Can-Can.

I had a fun time taking brides out to the lobby at the Hilton to model the dresses and see how they would photograph. Makenzie (below) is not getting married, but we had a blast dressing her up and putting her in the couture wedding gowns from Stanley Korshak.

What to Wear

Please wear dressy attire, such as khaki, black or brown pants or skirt.  You can wear jeans as long as there are no rips or holes!   Each volunteer will be given a Brides Against Breast Cancer t-shirt to wear at the event – if you are a returning volunteer, please bring yours from last year!   Don’t forget comfortable shoes!

Parking

Complimentary parking is available at the hotel.  Hilton Arlington is located at 2401 E. Lamar Blvd, Arlington, TX 76006.

Bring Friends!

Invite your friends, family and colleagues to join you!  We need men too, especially for set up, tear down and to help return gowns to the racks during the sale, so invite your boyfriend, fiancé and brothers to help!

Shannon from Something-You worked a marathon bridal session the day before with me. We had so many great ideas for locations, but the one I was super stoked about was Joe T Garcia’s. I had been there once and remembered thinking, as I was sipping on a frozen margarita, “I would love to shoot here some day!” Shannon said, “I can get us a pass to shoot there…” seriously? I had a tough time narrowing this blog post down, so I didn’t…enjoy!

These two could not have glowed any more on their wedding day. I was incredibly touched by the love they have for each other. Imagine our excitement when we read on the wedding day timeline we would have 3 hours after their ceremony for wedding day portraits! So we filled that time with some fun in Downtown Dallas and around their wedding venue, Hickory Street Annex. Nathan drove us around (3 photographers) and his new bride as we hunted for great light and backdrops in Deep Ellum. It was a fun time! The wedding was gorgeous, so stay tuned for their full wedding day posts

Three looks, three locations, one awesome Bride, one terrific make-up artist is what made this bridal photo session so incredibly fun! Dallas is filled with so many possibilities for great bridal portraits and we hit three of them. We started our day pretty early at Third Space, then over to Party Off The Grid and finally at White Rock Lake. Third Space has some incredible art on display and we took advantage and put Rachel right in the middle of it all with a vintage retro look. At Party Off The Grid we braved the heat and Rachel made it hotter sporting a fun edgier look. The last location at White Rock Lake in Dallas Shannon went with a more classic bridal look with pearls and a softer look. Who says you have to only have one look for your bridal session?

Erin’s wedding was last weekend (here’s a sneak peek from their wedding in Richardson) and here are her lovely bridals at The Dallas Arboretum. Spring was in its last few days of tulip season, but we did manage to have those gorgeous tulips in some of her images.

I can post these bridals because I saw Megan’s facebook status change to married! Whooohooo! Their wedding was on Saturday and I am So excited for Megan and Sherman. I was not able to photograph their wedding, but being able to work with her for her bridal session and engagement session was a true pleasure. Congrats to you both!

When we are able to work with fantastic team of professionals during a wedding, we are pretty sure the day will go flawless… or at least in the bride and groom’s eyes. We had the PLEASURE to work with Sarabeth Events and her wonderful team for Kacie and John’s wedding and these gals worked in a timeline like no other. Kacie was able to have so much fun with her bridesmaids so we took advantage of the time and ventured about around Uptown in Dallas for a few portraits! John and boys were back at The Maple Manor relaxing and getting ready while we had our wedding day portrait fun. Part1 of this installment is here.
