Dallas Wedding Photographer amy karp :: PHOTOGRAPHY bio picture

my { PASSION }

I grew up in Dallas watching my Grandmother paint wonderful portraits of families.  As a little girl I was fascinated with her work and I regularly snuck into her back room where she painted and I sat in amazement of her skill.  All the easels, brushes, and portraits lying about only added excitement and intrigue to what she did.  It was then that I knew I would follow in her foot steps and be an artist.  I wound up taking drawing and painting classes in college to advance my own skills.  Then, I took a photography course and it all changed.  Once I discovered you could paint with light, it was all over, I was going to be photographer!  The way that one can manipulate their art with the proper photographic techniques had me hooked from the beginning.  Photography had me at "hello". My dear and wonderful husband Jon encouraged and pushed to me to follow my passion for the lens.  As a result I get to do what I love every day!  It continues to be more and more rewarding and satisfying with every press of the shutter.  It only makes it more special that I get to enjoy my passion for wedding photography with all of you!
