Jenna’s Senior Portraits

dallas senior photography (1)

Hello there! Let me introduce to you to an awesome Senior, Jenna. Jenna is a sweet young woman. She sometimes watches Sam when my dear husband and I go out on date night. While I was editing these images, Sammy kept saying, “that’s JENNA!”. We love her. When I am not shooting weddings, I absolutely adore photographing senior portraits. I have so much fun with them. Jenna having great style and a fun personality definitely made the session. Jenna has a Volkswagen Fastback and its GREEN. When I found out she wanted me to take her portraits, I was crossing my fingers and toes hoping she would want the car involved. I visited with her about the session. We talked clothes, shoes, accessories and then location. Where did she want to have the session? Where else?? A cemetery! Its near our house and sits right off a usually slumber road. We were greeted by a few passer-byes, but for the most part, this road is quiet. A UPS truck stopped and the driver exclaimed “Those are going to be the coolest pictures!”. I will let you all be judge. I have been slobbering on my steering wheel every time I pass this field near our house and wanted to finish our session in this tall grass. Who would have thought these places are in the middle of the hustle and bustle of Dallas County?

I also purchased a new editing tool last night and was playing with it a bit – VSCO Film. I currently like my images to have a very clean feel. Let me know if you can tell a difference from the ones edited in Photoshop and Lightroom.

Enjoy these senior portraits of a beautiful young woman inside and out! Jenna, good luck with all that lies ahead for you and we wish you tons of success at school!

Jake’s Senior Portrait Session

dallas senior photography (1)Today I am so happy to share with you the senior portraits of Jake! He is so kind, so cool, and so handsome. I believe that what is inside is what makes you truly beautiful. Jake is a kind soul that likes to laugh and make others around him smile too. I have known him and his wonderful family for several years and I am honored to call them friends. Jake wanted to have a portrait session that reflected his style, his vibe, and his personality. It was only fitting we would wander the streets of downtown Dallas to find great street art, iconic landmarks and have a jam session on the rooftop of Off The Grid at sunset with the Dallas skyline in the background. It was fun to pose a guy. Jake, you are too cool!! Enjoy this session as much as we did!

jake | DOWNTOWN DALLAS SENIOR PORTRAITS | sneak peek!

jake senior portraits downtown dallas by wedding photographer amy karp photography

Today was a fun Senior Session with JAKE! I have known Jake since he started high school and when his Mom, Katherine (one of my BFF’s!) set up our session together, I was stoked. Basically, Jake and I were able to collaborate together and choose a session that fit him and his personality. It was a blast! After our portrait session, we all headed up to Lee Harvey’s to dinner together. If you have not been there, its worth the trip downtown if you dig good music and good food.

megan | SENIOR

meet Megan….she is graduating soon. At the shoot it was 3 weeks away! She is interested in photography and gets to play with some cool equipment at school. She is such a fun girl, we danced, I sang (badly) and she rocked every pose I threw at her. I went on the shoot with Allison Davis and Megan’s Mom actually got some images of us shooting her. Yes, can you believe I handed over my camera to someone else! She was handy with the iPhone music, so I figured she would do fine with a professional camera set in full AUTO :)

Check out the attitude, isn’t she the sassiest!?!?! Be sure to give Megan some blog love! Thanks for stopping by!

where's amy???

I often find myself driving around in the car for two reasons, a) my sweet baby boy always seems to relax and fall asleep and sometimes that is the only way I can get him to take a nap AND b) I am looking for fun, fresh and unique places to take my clients. I thought I would post a sneak peek to where I am going tomorrow. I scouted this earlier in the week and really cant wait to go! And, yes, those are my feet in the picture :)

Stay tuned to the blog for a great eSession coming up!
