bridals, bridals, bridals….

I must be in a bridal mood – maybe it’s because all the bridals I have been doing as of late.

So here’s the skinny. I am doing a promotion for some fun bridals – it’s titled, “Take Me Away, Amy!”.Why does Amy need to take YOU away? What’s your story? Just want some stellar images of you in your dress? I am looking for some fun stuff – show me yours!

I want to go here and I want to go there. Basically, my call my shots, I get to go wherever I want. This means you needn’t need a care for your pristine dress. No, I will not make you trample through the mud or go drive a fork-lift (although that does sound fun!). I want a bride that is fun, energetic and ready for whatever I throw at her (excluding the mud, again)!

So, blog-stalkers here is where you come in. I need brides to contact me – either married or not – with images of them in their dress and their story WHY DOES AMY NEED TO TAKE YOU AWAY?. If they have been married, please note….dress needs to still relatively fit.

I am looking for that gal, in that dress, for that shot!

Please email me for promotion details and what the winner will receive. I look forward to all the submissions! How exciting is this?!?!?!

where's amy???

I often find myself driving around in the car for two reasons, a) my sweet baby boy always seems to relax and fall asleep and sometimes that is the only way I can get him to take a nap AND b) I am looking for fun, fresh and unique places to take my clients. I thought I would post a sneak peek to where I am going tomorrow. I scouted this earlier in the week and really cant wait to go! And, yes, those are my feet in the picture :)

Stay tuned to the blog for a great eSession coming up!

I generally replicate the post from the blogsite, but just FYI, my fans (become one now!) might get some inside information on what’s going on the world of amy karp promotions! So click here —-> amy karp PHOTOGRAPHY on facebook!

and….you might have noticed I have a twitter dropdown on the blogsite. I send updates from my phone, so you can stalk me by the minute instead of the post :) Here I am on twitter!

He’s One…

My little man turned ONE…it seems like yesterday I was saying, “hey I am half-way there!” <– at 20 weeks! Little did I know I was going to have feet the size of watermelons and be put on “bedrest” for this fella. Boy, he was certainly worth it. All 8.2 lbs of him on April 14th at 5:16pm. I really tried hard to have him at 4:14pm. I was pulling weeds in the front yard the Sunday before I went to the hospital (that night I was going to be induced). I had to make sure the yard didnt have weeds in it. I knew we were going to have a lot of folks over and I wanted it to be presentable. Off to Cheesecake Factory we went for my final dinner and then to the hospital. The waitor’s face was priceless when we told him we needed the check because we were on the way to the hospital to have a baby. At 8am they came in to start the IV’s and get my labor going and 9 hours later, Sammy Jay was here!

So we celebrated his big ONE with Elmo and the gang. He (and a lot of other kids I know) love Elmo. I really love the whole entire Mommy experience, I just wish it wasnt going so fast. Happy Birthday Sam…Mommy and Daddy love you!

Traylor Furniture | Terrell, TX

I had the pleasure to work with Todd, one of my childhood friends. His family owns Traylor Furniture in Terrell, TX. I absolutely loved their store. I had never been in and have known Todd since I was in the 5th grade! The store is conveniently located just off of Hwy 80 in downtown historic Terrell, TX. Here are some pictures of the store front.

bridals are so secretive…

I shoot bridals and am so anxious to get them up and on the blog. The wedding day gets here and …….poof, I gotta show off that!

I have been shooting bridals like crazy, and it seems like I am just sitting on my rump playing with Sam-Man, but I have been busy. I am just having to keep it under wraps until after the Mr and Miss become the Mr and Mrs! I can’t wait to show you the latest bridals, but in the mean-time check out some of the old fav’s with some new Photoshop love on them.

Camp Thurman fun with DSPTC!

I had the honor to work with a great group of kiddos! I went to Camp Thurman in Arlington (or maybe that was Pantego) to spend my Saturday afternoon with the kiddos from Down Syndrom Partnership of Tarrant County. After the 70+ degree days prior, it was in the 30′s….brrrr! Just a little forewarn, this post is pretty picture heavy!

we had face painting!

Megan was awesome! She was about halfway out when she decided she needed some reinforcements.

dstpc-2

and the valliant guys on stand-by (the Pantego FD) were there to step-in and help her to safety.

dstpc-3

YAY for Megan…you made it!

dstpc-4

The camp grounds were huge…I managed to get around by listening for the fun around the corner, there was so much to do there!

dstpc-5

Let’s get on the Easter Egg hunt. All of the kids were able to decorate their bags.

I hope I can convey this as it happened. She asked him, “how many eggs are you going to get?” He said, “a lot”. She said, “like 15?”….he said, “NO, I said A LOT!!!”

this last picture is where I almost bit the bullet! I was hoping to get some long-exposure shots of them coming down and seeing some movement….what I almost got was a bulled over. I was looking through my lens when I saw this guy rapidly approaching. I stepped back and ker-plunk (is that a word?). I tried to be graceful about it and hope no one saw me. I might have failed in that mission.
